Your Help is Needed
There are a number of ways to conserve open space in your community. You don’t need to donate acres of land (though we would appreciate it if you did).
Volunteer on a weekend
Conserving open space is important in its own right, if for no other reason than to limit sprawl and provide a wildlife sanctuary. But there are great recreational opportunities presented by open space, and providing that opportunity involves some work.
Volunteers are often needed to:
- Clear and maintain trails
- Post signs at QLC properties
- Help staff the QLC booth at community events
- Assist with QLC-sponsored nature outings
Donate to QLC
QLC works tirelessly to conserve open space but we need your help. If you believe important, environmentally sensitive lands should be conserved, please consider donating to the QLC and becoming a supporting member of the organization. QLC receives some funding from the Town of Queensbury, but we can do much more with additional funds. As a non-profit organization, your donation to QLC is tax-deductible. Help with outreach efforts
In addition to outdoor work such as helping to maintain trails, you can assist QLC with our administrative tasks that help spread the word about conserving open space in the area. QLC’s volunteer board of directors is always looking for people who want to help make a difference. Each month, help is needed to :
- Stuff envelopes
- Update our mailing list
- Participate in fund-raising activities
